I had 2 memories from my past, that sparked this song. One was when I was a teen, my Dad was under the influence of alcohol, drove and got himself into an accident. The 2nd memory was, as a young wife and Mom, my young husband would now and then, go to the store, get side-tracked, and not come home for a day or two. Somehow,, out of those 2 memories , came ‘Cadillac Kid’.
